"Raise The Roof" Campaign

For almost  a century the William Brearley Home and the Kirk Apartments have provided inexpensive lodging for ministers, educators, adults, youth, and children, who participate in the array of conferences offered by the Montreat Conference Center.  Today, we are on the brink of stepping through a threshold into an expanded ministry of the South Carolina Home at Montreat.

It is our hope that you will join with the South Carolina Home at Montreat Board and the “Raise the Roof” Campaign Committee to move the South Carolina Home at Montreat to its next level of ministry.  The additional facilities, made possible by this campaign, will make us better able to accommodate the needs of groups who currently come to Montreat by providing meeting/dining space for up to 75 people, handicapped accessibility, and additional parking.  These additions will also attract new users who have found the limited meeting space a hindrance to them using the South Carolina Home at Montreat.

The Board of Trustees of the SC Home at Montreat will continue to oversee the operations of our home in the mountains in a way that best serves you and your churches by maintaining the current facilities and hospitality levels to which you are accustomed.

Please join us this year.  Visit your “Home in Montreat!”  Do your part by making a pledge to ensure that the South Carolina Home at Montreat will continue its ministry for another century.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Chuck, chuck@schomemontreat.org  or  myself, presbyeducator@gmail.com.

In His service,

Avery S. Dickson,

Moderator - SC Home Board of Trustees

We have finally taken the next step in bringing our new addition plans and renovations to fruition. The campaign to raise $1.5 million has begun and we hope that all the churches, groups, and individuals who appreciate and value what South Carolina Home has contributed to the Montreat experience over the years will support us in these efforts. As S.C. Home nears its first century of service the planned addition and additional renovations will include the following.

Ø      New dining and meeting space

Ø      New kitchen for meal preparation

Ø      New administrative office

Ø      Renovation and upgrade of apartments

Ø      Handicap access with elevator

Ø      Outdoor gathering space with rockers and a fireplace

Ø      Additional parking on the upper level

Everyone is invited and encouraged to support the “Raise the Roof” campaign. Every gift matters!
